Students at Tesoro High School earn fake cash and items when they accomplish their goals.
When Octavio Nieto spotted his ideal purchase, a school aide told him it would take weeks to earn it.
That’s when he got to work — and in two weeks found the strength to take his first solo steps.
“When he got his 100 ‘Tesoro dollars’ he waved them in her face and said, ‘Nothing is impossible with God,” another school official said.
Octavio’s next goal is to walk across the stage at his high school graduation next year.
