The survivors of the 2012 terrorist attack on the American diplomatic post in Benghazi aren’t backing down.
In the face of a House Intelligence Committee report that has been widely cheered by liberals and their mainstream media allies (and just as widely panned by conservatives and those who’ve followed the story for the past two years), survivors like Kris Paronto are determined to keep fighting.
Appearing on Fox News’ “America’s News Headquarters” Saturday, Paronto called the report by Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Rogers, R-Mich, and “a total farce.”
And Paronto, a co-author of the book “13 Hours: The Inside Account of What Really Happened in Benghazi,” asked some unnamed members of the administration to come clean. With the Intelligence Committee’s report finished, he said, the real hope for the truth will be in the House Select Committee on Benghazi, a special committee chaired by Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., commissioned by House Speaker John Boehner to “get to the bottom of Benghazi.”
“I hope people that do know – on the upper management levels and the upper leadership levels of the White House, that that are telling lies and being lied to, stand up,” Paranto said. “And I hope Trey Gowdy can get to the bottom of this.”
Paronto said he’s tired of fighting, but the cause is worth it.
“I took an oath to defend this country and defend the government of the United States. All of us did on the ground there,” he said.
“And we have basically been called liars by our own government, we have been turned on by our own government, and I’m angry.”
